Our Absolute Privacy Promise
We believe in local computation. AppMist does not collect personal records, require user accounts, track user activity, serve advertisements, or synchronize your data with external cloud databases.
Information Collection & Logs
TimeUp Lock does not collect, record, or store any personal information. You do not need to register an account or create login credentials to use the application. The app functions entirely in offline mode.
- No Personal Data: We do not ask for or collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or account profiles.
- No Location Tracking: The application does not access your GPS coordinates or network locations.
- No Ad Services: There are no advertising identifiers or promotional tools integrated into the codebase.
- No Cloud Sync: All configurations, security PINs, and timer settings reside locally on your mobile device's private storage directory.
Permissions Used & Specifications
To perform its utilities, TimeUp Lock requests access to specific device systems. Each permission is listed below with its technical rationale:
1. Accessibility Service (Required Permission)
Our application requires you to enable Android's Accessibility Service permission.
Purpose: The Accessibility Service permission is used ONLY to perform the system-level action of locking the screen when the countdown timer ends. This ensures the lock screen can be restored and kept in place as expected.
Data Security: Under no circumstances do we capture, save, monitor, or transmit any data processed by the Accessibility Service. No keystrokes, personal details, or screen inputs are read, stored, or transmitted outside the device. The service is entirely passive, waiting for internal timer events before locking the screen.
2. Display Over Other Apps (Overlay Permission)
Purpose: Used to draw the screen-time lock interface on top of all other active applications immediately when your set countdown timer finishes.
Data Security: This permission does not read screen content or monitor other applications. It is strictly used to display the lock screen overlay when the timer runs out. No overlay data is stored or transmitted.
Children's Privacy Protection
Since we do not collect any personal data, track user locations, or transmit internet data packets, the application is completely compliant with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and Google Play parental developer requirements. We do not construct user behavioral profiles or collect metrics from children.
Data Security
Your configurations and locks are secured by Android's native sandbox architecture. Because the app has no internet communication permissions, it is technically impossible for local data to be leaked or transmitted to third parties.
Third-Party Integrations
The application contains no third-party APIs, software development kits (SDKs), advertising platforms, or external analytics integrations.
